It is often the children who present with the most challenging behaviour and those with SEND that need consistency more than most. Children will push the barriers and see what they can get away with, whether they have SEND or not! At times, approches may have to be adapted or additional provision put in place, but I feel that consistency in a class and school play a key part in behaviour management.

Schools schould have a simple and effective behaviour system in place that all chidlren and staff are aware of. This system should also focus on the positives. It is also important to look for underlying factors that may be presenting as beahavioural issues, as these need to be addressed.

Broni, thanks for that Yers I agree policies are important and Im glad you agree with " consistency", so have you any teching techniques or disciplnary techniques that work with SEND such as using body language, starinhg at ones watch in order to make the children notice that they are wasting class time if not lining up for the class line in the yard, or any particular techniues for any children with autism - for example as they cannot red body language too well? or especially those wiuth aspbergers ?
