I absolutely cannot imagine that a teacher could be so arrogant to think their teaching style would be a one-fits-all presentation! Why should a child ever have to `adapt` to not learning?
Teachers and TAs should and can definitely make adjustments. At my school , we are always asking each other`s opinions on what we can do better for individuals who do not learn traditionally. We really are willing to try anything. It is our job, after all to make the curriculum accessible for all, is it not?
It is difficult to be all things to all people all the time but it is up to us to try everything. This is especially true if you are aware of the identified dyslexic learner. There are thankfully a lot of resources available, so there is really no excuse not to adapt. How can a child be responsible for figuring all that out on their own?!
